This piece was made by Shreve & Co of San Francisco, and dates to around the 1910 -1920s. The piece consists of a cut and etched clear glass liner, with four compartments around a central round well, great for chips or crudites with dip. The glass liner is decorated with a floral design. The sterling silver holder is ornately decorated along the handle with elegant openwork designs of flowers, ribbons, medallions, and scrollwork, with a cartouche at the highest point of the handle. The cartouche has a monogram of ADeCo. The silver basket rests on four bun form feet. This piece is in great condition. The silver portion is in great shape, with no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The glass liner has no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. This piece is stamped sterling and with the maker's mark for Shreve & Co of San Francisco. The piece stands about 6 5/8 inches tall and measures about 11 inches in diameter.
