Description: Indestro Manufacturing Corp. began life as Sure Seal Bottle Capper. In the 1920s it branched into other products, mostly stamped steel tools and kitchen ware items, but by the 1930s it was a growing manufacturer of quality tools suited to automobile repair and maintenance. Some of their Stamped products in the 1930s were intended for more professional use such as their lines of Stamped Tappet and Nut & Tap Wrenches. This No. 104 is part of a Set of Five (No. 110) such Wrenches that is illustrated in Indestro’s 1935 and 1937 Catalogs that can be found on Archive.org. The Nut and Cap Wrench is quite sturdy; 3/16 Inch thick. There is some evidence of the original Nickel Plating and an almost equal amount of moderate corrosion. The 3/4 Inch End is true while the 5/8 ranges from 21/32 to 11/16. The Square Tap Hole is accurate at 9/32. Obviously, the Wrench has limited present-day applications, bit it is in surprisingly good condition for a nearly 100 years old piece of Stamped Steel. Certainly it’d be good to have all Five Pieces of the Set, but lacking them it still deserves a place in a Show-and-Tell Collection of early 20th Century Stamped Tools. We will ship the Wrench by USPS Ground Advantage on the next regular business day following receipt of payment.
