Authentic Indiana University Assembly Hall (Bloomington, IN) Seats with Arm Rests Don’t miss this chance to own THE ONLY vertical mounting (that we are aware of) complete and authentic seats from Assembly Hall’s 2016 renovation. Perfect for any Hoosier fan cave! Seat in service 1971-2016 (Since AH has been opened) and manufactured by the American Seating Co., who also did the AH back/bottom replacement in the 2016/17 renovation (there’s several news articles talking about this). All original with the exception of bolts and nuts holding seat pan/cushion and back together (I did my best to match the original hardware on the seat with what’s there now). Rarity - As previously stated, these chairs are very rare. Following the renovation in 2016, we supplied many Hoosier fans with seat backs (sold right here by us) and was able to fully assemble and make available less than 10 complete seats that were rear mounting. This is the only seat recovered that was vertical mounting that we are aware of. Seat is vertical mounting: Most all of the seats in AH are rear mounting and bolt to a vertical slab. Unlike a majority of the seats in AH, these mount vertically (likely found in a floor or handicapped section) and stand without support. Though these do balance on their own, you and will need some type of additional stand to be able to sit in chairs up-right or bolt through the feel. This is not included with purchase. Condition: Backs have been cleaned but minimal cleaning has been done to rails and seat as to not introduce rust or mold. There is mild staining to the seat bottoms given the use. The seat cushions do separate from the frame/padding and may be able to be replaced or cleaned. Padding is in good condition. We have left everything alone as to preserve condition. Seat bottoms are size 16 and seat backs are size 19. Though different, these are matching hardware sizes for American Seating Company (bottom/back combos (16/19, 17/20, 18/21). These do not come with any COA/LOA as IU never officially made these available to the public. We can demonstrate provenance/evidence of authenticity upon request.
