Description: Intelligence Quotient Vol. 1, Nos. 1 & 2 by Claude Degler (writing as "Doro") Two issues, all published, of a sci-fi fanzine by notorius figure Claude Degler Futurian Society of Indianapolis: Indianapolis, 1944. Issues 1 & 2 (all published) of a FAPA fanzine written and published by one of the most infamous figures in fandom, Claude Degler, under a pseudonym with its own nom de plume, "Doro." A believer in UFOs with a history of mental illness and a keen interest in fascism, he created a web of numerous publications and alternate identities in the WWII-era sci-fi fan community that suddenly collapsed under scrutiny. He then was a persona non grata in the fandom world, dying in obscurity some time around four decades later. The closest parallels to his fall from grace would emerge only in the 21st century with the rise of the internet, virtual anonymity, bots, and social media. Two fanzines, 8.5" x 14", one staple bound. About Very Good overall with light wear; first issue starting to split along middle fold, tiny scrape to front wrap. Scarce.
