Description: Original Lithograph by artist Isis Kischka. Numbered 126 out of 250. Colors are vibrant and the heavy card stock has a nice vintage toning. Print has full margins and has not been cut. This piece is untitled. Dimensions: 28 1/4" tall x 23 3/4" wide Image size- 17 3/4" x 17 3/4" Kischka was born in 1908 to a Jewish family who migrated from Ukraine to France two years before his birth. He pursued art in 1926 and married in 1932. In 1941 he was arrested and sent to a Nazi internment camp where he would encourage others to pursue art and put on exhibitions with other captives despite their grim surroundings. He, unlike many others, was liberated from the camp after 39 months in 1944. He was able to save paintings from himself as well as other artists in the camp and donated several to the Beit Lohamei Haghetaot museum. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
