Description: This 1981 silkscreen. Programa de Navidad, by Ismael Hidalgo is in mint condition; it was never used. The colors are bright and paper is strong. No tears, holes or age spots in the front, some in the back. Hidalgo signed his name on the plate (See photo). BIOGRAPHY: Ismael Hidalgo was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico in 1947. He's a painter and graphic artist. He studied at the New York School of Art and Design and worked in a New York publicity firm and art studio. When he returned to Puerto Rico, he worked at the Department of Education's Graphic Arts Department of Community Education (DIVEDCO) where he was influenced by artistic notables such as Isabel Bernal, Lorenzo Homar, Rafael Tufi~no and Eduardo Vera Cortes. He worked at DIVEDCO from 1979-86. Later, he became senior art designer for a J.C. Penny publicity company. Hidalgo has an art studio in San Juan.
