Description: One of the most recognizable Polish Posters. The iconic Wozzeck by Jan Lenica. The posters advertises Alban Berg's avant-garde opera Wozzeck. Gold Medal at the first Warsaw International Poster Biennale in 1966.MoMA permanent collectionThis artwork was created in 1964, the posters were not printed until 1965. This is the second printing from 1971 by Military Graphic Works in Warsaw (Wojskowe Zakłady Graficzne – Warszawa). This printing is the closest in quality, stock and vibrant colors to the original first printing from 1965. Other reprints from 1973 and 1979 (WAG and Projekt) are not as good–especially the one for DESA from 1979. The conditions of the poster is almost mint. It does have a few small stains on the right side, that are not noticeable from a distance. If you decided to give this poster a bath, and linenback it, it will be like the day it was printed.
