True to the Akoya’s revered distinction of having brilliant luster, this strand has pearls that gleam and shine in the light! An iridescence is evident in some of the pearls, giving off a montage of bright and silvery rainbow overtones. Pearl sizes range from 9mm to 10mm. Primarily from the ocean waters off the shores of Japan, small oysters known as the Pinctada Fucata produce these Akoya pearls. They are the smallest pearl-producing oysters in the world. All-natural in color, these pearls have not been dyed, treated nor enhanced in any way. Will exhibit natural imperfections only. This is a loose strand (temporarily strung only, not knotted between the pearls and has no clasp), and is being sold here as it is. It is approximately 16.75 inches long. When fully knotted and secured with a clasp, the strand will extend to approximately 18-19 inches, a traditional princess necklace length that falls at or just below the collar bone.
