Segura Ezquerro completed his art studies at the School of Arts and Crafts in Almería in 1912 and in 1917 graduated as a drawing teacher at the Real Academy of San Fernando in Madrid. In 1921 he traveled to Cuba with his father. On the island he comes into contact with young artists such as Víctor Manuel or Carlos Enríquez, who later become symbols of the First Vanguard of Cuban Art and will participate in the first New Art Exhibition presented by the Revista de Avance in 1927. He is included by Jorge Mañach in the chapter "Cuban Painting" within the single volume "Las Bellas Artes Cuba", considering him almost Cuban. In the History of Plastic Arts he is cataloged as a member of the first vanguard of Cuban Plastic Arts. His themes reach different areas from the indigenous aesthetic, colorful Havana scenes, interiors to portraits. PROVENANCEColección privada, Habana, adquirido del propietario original por el propietario actual Segura Ezquerro terminó sus estudios de Arte en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Almería en 1912 y en 1917 se graduó como profesor de Dibujo en la Real Academia de San Fernando de Madrid. En 1921 viajó a Cuba con su padre. En la isla entra en contacto con artistas jóvenes como Víctor Manuel o Carlos Enríquez, que luego serán símbolos de la Primera Vanguardia de Arte Cubano y formará parte de la primera Exposición de Arte Nuevo que presenta la Revista de Avance en 1927. Es incluido por Jorge Mañach en el capítulo de “La Pintura de Cuba” dentro del tomo único “Las Bellas Artes Cuba”, considerándolo casi cubano. En la Historia de las Artes Plásticas es catalogado como miembro del grupo de la primera vanguardia de la Plástica cubana. Sus temas alcanzan predios diferentes desde la estética indigenista, las coloridas escenas habaneras, los interiores hasta los retratos. Obras de su autoría forman parte de las Colecciones de los Museos de Bellas Artes de España y Cuba.
