Description: A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1980 commemorate the founding of the Department of Education which was formed by Jimmy Carter. The department's goal is to improve the quality of education throughout the country. The stamps feature Josef Albers' artwork, "Homage to the Square: Glow" and the words, "Learning Never Ends". Albers was a painter, sculpter, art theorist and educator, last working as the chairman of the Design Department at Yale University. These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office over 40 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone interested in Josef Albers works or your favorite educator! See my other auctions for blocks of historical significance! All stamps are Mint Never Hinged. Shipping is $1.00 for first class mail. Additional stamp block auctions won, paid for in one COMBINED transaction and shipped at the same time are only 25 cents extra per auction (sheets and booklets not included), with a maximum shipping charge of $5.00, no matter how many auctions you win. Please pay for all of your auctions in one payment. All payments are to be in US currency only. I send stamps out when I receive your payment or the day after if the mail has already gone out.
