Description: This Josef Mejiro-model Piccolo was made in Okinawa Japan. It was purchased brand new at Dolce Music Osaka in 2023.Made of grenadilla wood with a solid silver mechanism, it has a conical bore and is unusually keyed to low C, rather than the typical low D of most piccolos. It plays with little effort through the whole range and has a smooth sound which is not too piercing. The tuning of many notes such as middle D and E-flat, which are traditionally difficult, are much less-so with this piccolo.This piccolo sells new for over 1,000,000 Japanese Yen ( and is not readily available outside of Japan.
