Description: RARELY SEEN MATERIAL FROM THE HOLCOMB VALLEY AREA, LET ALONE CALIFORNIA IN GENERAL! FIRST PUBLISHED DISCOVERY OF HARDYSTONITE OUTSIDE OF FRANKLIN!!!!!!!! Read up in the FOMS Picking Table. RARE ONE-OF-A-KIND HARDYSTONITE, WILLEMITE & CALCITE IN HETAEROLITE/FRANKLINITE MATRIX! CHECK THIS AND MANY OTHER SPECIMENS OF BRIGHT FLUORESCENT MATERIAL FROM CALIFORNIA. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RICH PIECE OF A VARIED FLUORESCENT SUITE, AND WHILE THE PHOTOGRAPHY IS SUB-PAR, THE SPECIMEN IS TOP CLASS! JUST LIKE FRANKLIN CALCITE/WILLEMITE, ONLY IT IS FROM CALIFORNIA. SORRY BUT THE HARDYSTONITE DOES NOT OCCUR LIKE THE BRILLANT FRANKLIN EXAMPLES, BUT HERE IN CALIFORNIA WE'LL TAKE THE FACT IT JUST OCCURS! THIS IS A RARE DEPOSIT WHICH IS VERY MUCH SIMILAR IN MINERALOGY WITH FRANKLIN & LANGBAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read the Spring Picking Table from the FOMS and read about its discovery! FANTASTIC FLUORESCENT SPECIMEN!!! This specimen is a good example of Hardystonite (fl. violet SW), Willemite (fl. green SW) and Calcite (fl. red SW) with black non-fluorescent iron ore (hetaerolite/franklinite) from the Desert View Mine, Holcomb Valley, San Bernardino County, California, USA. GOOD example of these fluorescent species from this locale! Note the hardystonite is mostly on one face in matrix. Displays wonderfully. The size of the specimen is 3-1/2" (8.8 cm) x 2-1/2" (6.3 cm) x 2" (5 cm). Great to add to a competitive display. The fluorescent picture(s) are under SW UV light, I am using a Superbright SW lamp (13W). I apologize for any quality issues with my photographs, I am not a photographer, but a field collector at heart. The specimens I sell are much better in person, check out my feedbacks! I always welcome direct inquiries, be sure to join the FOMS (Franklin Ogdensburg Mineralogical Society) to view the most recent Picking Table publication, heck join that prestigious society devoted to the minerals of Franklin and Sterling Hill deposits because it's a great group to be associated with. Do not miss out in adding one of these high quality examples of California fluorescence/mineralogy. I am an active member of the Fluorescent Mineral Society, current Board Member, and have been a member for over 40+ years. Although I don't feel that aged. I know what fellow fluorescent hobbiests are looking for, and will only offer quality here. I do guarantee my offerings, and as you see in my feedbacks, many buyers tell me how the specimens are better in person. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT PURCHASING THE ITEM. The shipping on this specimen is $18.00 for domestic buyers and $80 for international buyers. Shipping costs also absorb those pesky eBay and PayPal fees. These costs are non-negotiable. HAPPY HUNTING AND THANKS FOR VIEWING MY OFFERINGS! KEEP CHECKING BACK AS I HAVE ROUTINE OFFERINGS OF VERY HIGH QUALITY!! MOST OF MY MATERIAL IS SELF-COLLECTED, BUY IT FROM THE SOURCE.
