King Edward Gorham Sterling Silver Flatware Service For 6 Set; 26 Pcs VTG UNUSED

Description: Vintage NEVER USED Gorham King Edward Sterling Silver flatware set service for Six. Includes Sugar Spoon and Ladle. Total 26 pieces. Also includes original cloth lined American Walnut storage chest and original sales literature. Marks: Rears of Forks, Spoons, Ladle, and Sugar Spoon are marked: GORHAM STERLING PAT. Large forks also have an M. Spoons also have an H. Knives are not marked except for STAINLESS on the blades. Provenance: This 73-year-old set has NEVER BEEN USED and was always kept stored in the original walnut chest. It was purchased in 1950 from Rovelstad Brothers of Elgin, Illinois. It was a gift for my grandparent's 30th wedding anniversary from my father and his sister. It was a service for 12. It was stored and never used. After my grandmother passed in 1982, my dad and his sister split the set. Thus, this service for 6 with a sugar spoon and ladle. Dad's half of the sterling was stored in the original chest and never used. After my parent's passed, I received the set. I have never used it and only recently opened it for the first time to assess and sell it. Condition: Vintage UNUSED condition. Has been kept in original cloth lined chest for 73 years. Some differential light patina in spoon interiors, see closeup example in photo 21. Some of the knives have a slight "shadow" line of differential tarnish from being stored for decades in the felt slots, see example in photo 22. One fork has a tarnish spot, photo 23. One knife blade has a tiny scratch. I did not see anything else. I have not attempted to polish or otherwise clean these. Please use the enlarge feature to evaluate front and rear. Felt lined American walnut box is included, it does have a few scratches - I can send more photos of that on request. Original sales pamphlet is separating along the fold lines.
