Description: The iconic King Seiko Chronometer; the watch that made Switzerland seethe and established Seiko as a serious watchmaker everywhere. This 5626-7060 from April 1972, JDM exclusive. Overall fit and finish is superb, and has held up well. This example is all original and never repolished. All lines are sharp, distinct, and consistent. The dial is in near new condition, crystal is free of scratches. As this is a one piece case, chances of water/moisture intrusion is kept minimal - real handy for longevity, not so much for costs. Seiko would later abandon this brilliant case design choice, with the exception of their high-end divers. The 5626 was and still is a very advanced 28800 bph movement, made when Seiko had something to prove instead of shoving bargain movements in everything. The all-metal movement is fully jewelled, with as many DiaShock fixtures as possible, and is shockingly smooth. All 56xx movements include fine adjusters, but this one has an option to adjust without opening the case. This watch was serviced in 2023 by a Seiko specialist with OEM parts. Hacking, winding, and setting all work flawlessly. The quickset mechanism was replaced by a metal part that won't fail. Handsets align perfectly at 12. Accuracy is around +7 seconds/day across 5 positions, power reserve 45 hours.That being said, sold without warranty. Crystal gaskets were replaced but I don't recommend testing the water resistance.
