Description: Louis C. Rastetter of Baden, Germany arrived in New York in 1854. He eventually ended up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1882 he worked on developing a line of bent wood bows used to make buggy tops. The A.G. Spalding Company was so impressed with Rastetter’s products, it bought all of his tennis racket equipment. After Louis passed away, his son, William, transformed the business into a manufacturer of folding furniture. This is a set of 1940’s Solid Kumfort model “3915” wood folding chairs. They are in good condition and the folding mechanisms work well.
