Description: This is a rare April 15th, 1958 programme (playbill) from the Pre-West End production and EUROPEAN PREMIERE engagement of the LANGSTON HUGHES and DAVID MARTIN "All-Negro" musical comedy "SIMPLY HEAVENLY" at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, England. (The London production would open May 20th, 1958 at the Adelphi Theatre and close after only 23 performances. The original production opened May 21st, 1957 at New York's Off-Broadway 85th Street Playhouse and ran for 44 performances before moving on August 20th, 1957 to the Playhouse Theatre where the show played an additional 62 performances.) .....
