Description: ANTIQUE SOUTH ASIAN KASHKULA large antique brass bowl known as a kashkul, from South East Asia, probably India. A kashkul is essentially a beggar's bowl used to collect money, food or gifts.This lovely large bowl has decoration all round externally with a foliate design as well as four cartouches of Islamic type script. The bowl terminals have stylised bird's heads from which a carry chain could potentially be attached if required.Date: early 20th century.Condition: Good condition and left uncleaned with a mild degree of tarnish both internally and externally.
