LARGE ANTIQUE TRIBAL TEKKE TURKOMAN FESTOON SILVER CARNELIAN NECKLACE PENDANT

Description: 88.8 g. 17". 14" hook to loop plus 3" Chain. Each fish carnelian dangle is approx. 2 3/4" long, of which there are 15. The carnelian cabochons are approx. 12mm. The fish charm dangles are 1 1/2". Small beads are 4mm. This striking tribal festooned necklace features glowing carved cabochons of carnelian set in handmade bezels. It is all handmade and shows considerable age and variance. The metal is a soft muted silvery brass or brassy silver with plenty of old patina. No rust or verdi gris so I believe there is silver content. The tone is soft brassy silver. It is an antique and is unmarked. The fish dangles are 3 dimensional and the same on both sides. They hang somewhat rigidly from the necklace, while the chained carnelian charms can move freely. This holds the festoon shape. The beaded necklace fits high up on the neck, with the dangles spangling out dramatically from the collar. The stones read more orange than red and are all different with a glowing luminosity. All handmade, this is a unique old necklace showing substantial age. Very dramatic to wear or for the collector. Sold as found due to age, please see photos and feel free to ask questions.
