Large Vintage Vienna Bronze Stags Fighting

Description: This auction is for a vintage Vienna Bronze figure of stags fighting. One of them is at a big disadvantage as he is missing his antlers (I don't think he was cast that way, I think they broke off at some time in the past). There are no makers marks on them, but I am confident they are a vintage piece, from the pre-WW2 golden era of Vienna Bronzes. As noted above in condition, they don't stand upright by themselves - but I think this is how they were cast - I don't see any signs of damage or missing structures on them that would affect how they stand. But, if you put one rear leg on a raised base, and the other 3 legs on the raised base they stand up fine. I think they were made to use a base. However, any original base is gone. I did have this wood base from an old ship model, and it happens to be the perfect height for them - so, it is included in the auction. The figures are joined together, they do not come apart. They measure 8.25" long from the back of one leg to the rear leg of the other stag. They are about 2 7/8" tall each from the lowest base of a hoof to the middle of their backs. Exceptional casting and painting detail. In the last picture I show him with a 2 1/8" tall Mignot toy soldier - that soldier is shown for size reference only and is not included in this auction. I combine shipping on all purchases made and paid for at the same time (unless you're combining a book and toys as books use inexpensive media mail in the U.S. while toys can't). I use First Class (up to 16 oz) and Priority mail. Books ship media mail. I only charge actual postage - no added fees. I use lots of bubble wrap, peanuts, and good boxes. In a group of multiple pieces each item is wrapped individually. Original boxes or other original paper item go into a plastic bag in case you get delivery on a rainy day. International Shipping: I gladly ship international. Please note that there can be lengthy delays at Customs.
