One of a number of pieces I am selling of the artist's work. Oil on Masonite. Framed 31" x 27" / Visible Art 19.5" x 23.75" Signed "Edwardson" lower left. The outer frame is beautiful and original to the work as is the inner linen frame which is discolored due to age and environment. This can be resolved in a number of ways but this will be up to the buyer to resolve. (To easily resolve the inner frame discoloration, simply paint the linen inner frame with thin coat of acrylic paint, replace the linen, bleach the linen or apply a coat of gesso.) ABOUT THE ARTISTLaurence Christie "Larry" Edwardson (1904-1995) was born in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1904 and lived part of his life in Kensington, Connecticut. Much of his painting career was spent in New England and New Orleans, Louisiana. His work includes many Louisiana landscapes, portraits and religious subjects; and one of his modernist works is in the Historic New Orleans Collection. Edwardson studied at the Hartford Art School; with Gifford Beal, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts; Edward Dufner, New Britain Art League; A. Jones; and S. Nichols. He was a member of the Connecticut Art Association and exhibited at the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, 1930-1945 (prizes), New Haven Paint & Clay Club, 1941, and New Britain Institute, 1942-1946.
