Supposedly in 1971 only 300 of them were printed by a San Jose printer who printed many ads for Levi's. Levi's had used this same poster, designed by artist Ida Van Bladel, with the Miss Levi's logo, for a European campaign, and decided to try it in the USA, so they had a small run of the posters printed using the American Levi's batwing logo. The original printer printed one run of around 300 posters and then Levi's decided the picture was too raunchy for the US market at the time, so it was canceled. They never came to collect the posters, so the printer kept them, giving a few out to friends over the years, and keeping them in his San Jose hobby shop he later opened in the 80s, where a collector eventually found them and bought all that survived.
