Made to the exact standards as used around 1916-1919 by the Auto Club of Southern California. the Lincoln Memorial Highway was part of the Colorado Loop alternate routing of the Lincoln Highway from 1913 to 1915, deviating from the main Omaha to Cheyenne route via what is now US 138 to US 87 through Denver. In 1915, this segment was de-recognized as officially part of the Lincoln Highway, but the state of Colorado kept it going - hoping to keep attracting traffic of course! - until the numbered US route era by adding the name "Memorial". An original of this style of guide sign, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars if it ever came to the market. this is a faithfully rescaled remake - the original is 24 x 18 inches, and this has been scaled to 20 x 15. the more compact form allows for more wieldy display. the sign weighs about 7 pounds, 10 ounces. if you are looking for the full size 24 x 18 inch sign, please see my other auctions!
