Please have confidence in my 100% honest descriptions and please read the following carefully: This is an Original, No. 681 Pennsylvania S-2 "Steam Turbine" Locomotive, Produced by The Master Craftsmen of The Lionel Corporation, Circa 1951 or so. This loco runs amazingly well, with the E-unit cycling as it should, forward, neutral, reverse. The headlight works and the whistle blows very strong. The Magne-Traction is very strong as well. I was not able to get it to smoke, but I can feel that the heater in the smoke unit is heating up, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I barely noticed that one rear step on the tender body has been repaired. Honestly, it is not very noticable at all, please see photos. What this loco & tender need is a good cleaning & proper lubrication. This would be a fun, very easy clean up. I believe this set to be 100% original paint, parts & lettering, but I have never taken it apart. Perhaps the wires to the whistle were replaced at one time. Other than the above description, I am selling this loco & tender based ENTIRELY on the photos, so please look them over carefully. Anyway, these old eyes don't see like they used to, so I ask that you take the time to "ZOOM IN" and look the photos over very closely, to determine for yourself just what we have here.
