Description: Listed French Artist Jean-Claude Imbert (1919-1993) Signed, on lower right, this Powerful Winter Landscape. It is an Original Oil on Board, Expressionist in style, with very heavy paint application - Impasto (laying on paint thickly so that it stands out from a surface - see last image), c. 1950's. It is Titled on the reverse, "St. Victoire Sous La Neige" - 'St. Victoire Under the Snow'. A snow covered path wends its way down a village lane in Sainte Victoire, a small town in the south of France. Bold brushstrokes and strong color palette are reminiscent of Van Gogh's work. The piece comes framed but due to it's condition, we are selling and guaranteeing the artwork, framing is - 'as is'. The framing presentation may be original to the piece .4" Wide Carved, Reverse wood moulding, with a One piece Hand wrapped linen liner and a white wood filet are included complimentary in this listing. It is structurally sound (protecting the artwork!) but the finish has flaked away and there is waviness and discoloration to the upper left of the liner.Image opening measures 16 1/4 X 26 1/4 and is in Good to Very Good Vintage condition.Outside measure of the frame is 24 1/2 X 34 1/2 and is in Fair to poor condition.Please carefully examine all images for condition.Shipping fee includes Delivery Insurance.
