Description: Live steam 4-4-2 British built locomotive 3.5" gauge. The plaque on the side of the locomotive may give you a hint of this locomotive’s history. I feel that it was possibly a design that came from Scotland. I acquired it because of its great looks and its very good condition considering its age plus a liking for antique and earlier models. I cannot comment as to whether the model, so I will describe it as a “display” piece, as with my other models I would comment that in the hands of a competent model engineer it may run. I have been a collector of model live steamers and shipbuilders models for 50 years, please ask questions, but if they are of a technical nature I cannot give you a qualified answer. Its style was know as a Precursor tank. The internet has plenty of information on such tanks. If it was made by a manufacturer the name of Bassett and Lowke would be a good place to start.
