Having made his name as one of Jamaica's most versatile singer-songwriters with leading vocal acts, The Charmers and The Uniques, Lloyd 'Charmers' Tyrell set about creating an equally long-lasting legacy as a record producer. By the mid-1970s, he had scored numerous Jamaican best-sellers and was widely acclaimed as one of the island's most accomplished music-makers. In recognition of his success, leading UK-based reggae music company Trojan Records scheduled the 'Moody & Blue' LP, comprising a dozen of the best of Charmers's recent works as both a performer and producer. Yet, for reasons lost in the mists of time, the album never saw issue.
