Description: I DO NOT SHIP ANYTHING. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY WOODSIDE QUEENS NEW YORK 11377 VERY CLOSE TO QUEENS BOULEVARD AND THE BQE PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST AND ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE HITTING BUY IT NOW. I honestly prefer you pay me online and wait until payment clears with my bank before scheduling a pickup. Best to come during daylight hours, all sales are final after your inspection and when you leave with the item. And yes I will be wearing a mask. Unique. Custom. One of a kind. The verified November 1974 frame still has its original Opaque Red paint. Sure it is missing in some spots after all these years, but it was never touched up or repainted. It originally came from Zeller's Cycle, an authorized Schwinn dealer, in Santa Ana California. The chainguard, crank, and 46 tooth 'mag' chainring, badge, seat post clamp and bolt, integrated kickstand, even the caged bearings and coaster bracket are all original. The fork is from a 27" 1974 Schwinn Varsity blacked out to give it a 'chopped' Scrambler feel as opposed to a Picker or a Krate with a springer and 16 up front. It lifts the front up just right and the chrome crown is a very regal touch. Newer chrome wheels sport modern Schwinn Scrambler knobby style tires. With coaster brake, of course ;) Crank and fork hardware was all cleaned and rebuilt with fresh grease so it feels like new. NEW chrome chain!!! Pedals are 1977 Schwinn Approved 'rat traps' - very clean and smooth with reflectors. Chrome 1998 apehanger is a bit wider and not as 'boxy' as the factory style ape bars. Stem is a black steel Wald from a mid 90s mountain bike. NEW grips are blue with white stars and have a real Evel Knievel (or Easy Rider Captain America) vibe to them. NEW chrome rear view mirror has a red reflector. Seat is NEW OLD STOCK black banana with a STEEL PAN and it sits on top of the safer style chrome sissy bar that goes through the axle and a vintage chrome correctly sized 13/16 seat post. Frame height is 13" top tube 17 1/2" I would say 5'8" is the perfect rider height. Rebuilt survivor bike meant to be enjoyed by a short enough adult, not a show bike or textbook 'by the specs' restoration. Of course, if you want to put the time and money in, this could be a show worthy bike all sandblasted and powder coated with repop decals just put another grand or so into it, but it may lose some personality. If you happen to be a prop stylist, and intend to use this in a commercial, music video, tv show, movie, or display, I would love to see what you do with it. Wouldn't be my first time ;)
