Description: Our dealer lots are always a favorite with our customers. Here's a fascinating lot of 9 $1 and $5 Banknotes issued in the 1850’s by the Central Bank of Alabama. There are two $5 notes and seven $1 notes from the Old South that were in circulation just prior to the Civil War. This remnant note lot is modestly priced and each note will be housed in a protective holder and shipped via USPS with postal tracking. This offering is just part of our extensive inventory of US, Confederate & Obsolete banknotes available online and at our store in California. We photographed this lot against two different backgrounds under natural lighting conditions to assist you with your evaluation. The Central Bank of Alabama was chartered by the Alabama State legislature in 1854. The bank was constructed at One Court Square in Montgomery and completed in 1855. The bank was the first to grant loans to the Confederate government during the early days of the American Civil War. CA residents need to include 8% sales tax on the invoice!
