Description: Lovely Pair 1844 Austrian .812 Silver Candlesticks 12 1/2"Presented is a lovely pair of Austrian silver candlesticks. These candlesticks are dated 1844. The candlesticks are beautifully hand chased around the upper side of the base and on two knop areas on the shaft with scroll foliate and floral designs, very detailed and in high relief. The candlesticks have a leaf and dart design around the rims of the socles. The candlesticks do not have removable bobeches/wax drips and never have, they are all one piece. Each candlestick has a monogram of KK on the lip of the underside of the base. Each candlestick is stamped on the side above the base with the city mark for Vienna, dated 1844, with the 13 loth mark inside for 812 purity silver. There is also a maker's mark of VC. This pair is in great overall condition. Both of the candlesticks have old solder repairs to the wax drip/bobeche area. On one candlestick this is a very minor spot of solder repair to the top, on the other it is more extensive on both the top and underside, but still not very noticeable. Otherwise, there are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no other repairs. Each candlestick is about 12 1/2 inches tall. The total weight for the pair is 646 grams or 22.8 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
