Description: Original M 12Cav. 7 marked m-1902 Krag-Jørgensen carbine mounted saddle sheath. It is in fair condition for being 123 year old leather that was mounted on a horse and used in battle. Looks to have an old field repair at the tip. Rock Island Arsenal marked partially showing with inspector mark T.C also has initials W.S.T. Under the strap loop. Straps are missing. Stiff and holding its shape except where it narrows towards the end has a low area from use. Shows some cracking from age and has dark areas from rubbing while in use but most is a reddish Carmel original color. The 12th Calvary was constituted at fort Sam Houston in Texas in 1901
