Description: This uncommon vintage real photo postcard features American singer and actress, Mabel Hollins (1887-1955). She was born in London. Her mother was a noted opera singer. Her father was a well known English tenor. Her family moved to the United States in 1890. Her sister was an actress and she took Mabel on tour with her in 1893. The child was only about six years old. It wasn't long before Mabel continued to act well past her childhood. She also was a talented pianist and song writer. Research also revealed that her photograph can be found in the archives of the American Vaudeville Museum at the University of Arizona. Hollins theatrical career included seven Broadway plays between 1904 and 1906. This postcard was published by Darwin D. Silberer (New York) as part of the "My Favorite" series. Miss Hollins was photographed by the Gilbert & Bacon. studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This uncommon vintage portrait postcard is in good condition (see scans).
