Description: A hand-strung 3.5mm black crystal bead necklace -- with just a hint of red -- featuring a single 8mm lampwork glass red evil eye bead and a black Czech crystal 3/4" Figa fist charm pendant. Mano Negro pendant is available in either gold plated or silver plated wire wrapping finish... with lobster clasp and finishing beads. Made to order in your choice of 16" or 18". (Standard 16" length is shown in the photos.) The stone, which shines bright when polished, was a very popular charm from the 16th century when it was highly valued due to the belief around the stone’s spiritual abilities. Naturally occurring Jet is an actual gem from the decomposition of wood from millions of years in the past and can be dated to over 150 million years old. Azabache is magical and protective amulet. Today, the stone is still known to bring good fortune, rid one of negative energy, and protect those who wear it from fear, indecisiveness and the harmful gaze and malevolent stare of the Evil Eye (Mal de Ojo). The power of the stone to absorb the energy dispersed from the Evil Eye is the primary purpose of adorning oneself with an Azabache.
