Description: MALACHITE CRYSTALS on CUPRITE - 5.6 cm - BISBEE, ARIZONA 26274 This is a good small cabinet specimen of malachite and cuprite from the 'Queen of the Copper Camps', Bisbee, Arizona. The mines closed their operations almost 50 years ago, but it was even earlier that they were mining rich oxide ore like this specimen. This specimen features massive cuprite in a vuggy limonite matrix. Bright green acicular (hair like) crystals of malachite on all sides makes it a very colorful addition to a collection. Magnification reveals beautiful details.
