Description: Offered is the March, 1882 issue of the antique magazine "Peterson's Ladies National Magazine", published in Philadelphia, Vol. LXXXI, No. 8. There are numerous short fictional stories, some serialized from previous months and one piece of sheet music as well as several pages of "fashion plate" illustrations. There is also one foldout cross-stitch pattern, of a stag. The magazine has a plain brown cover over the picture cover. Someone has written "Peterson's March 1882" on the cover in period script. This may be a rare find; at the time of original listing I could not find any other 1882 "Peterson's" for sale on eBay. The magazine is approx. 10 1/4" x 6 1/2". The pages are numbered consecutively from previous months; this month goes from 197 to 266, not including the extra pages in the front. It is in fair condition. The plain cover is tattered around the edges, with some small bits missing, and has browned, with moderate to heavy foxing. The first few and last few pages of the magazine are tattered around the edges, as well, although most of the pages are intact or nearly so. The pages have browned considerably and there is some light foxing. I see two pages that have had parts cut out (probably for paper dolls?) and one page completely removed. The foldout pattern is undamaged, however, except for some edge tattering, and the adjacent tissue paper is present. Please take a moment to look at the other items in my eBay store!
