Description: The 1885 first edition with many of the errors corrected. So not a first state. A tight, solid copy; pretty clean boards with bright gilding to front cover and slightly dulled spine. Wear to all extremities, especially to the tips and crown of the spine. The interior is quite nice and very solid. Both hinges are very tight with no cracking. Besides a foxed splotch to the tissue that separates Twain's bust, the pages are clean throughout with no tears, folds or marks (except those shown on the front and rear end pages). A presentable early example. I will buy insurance for this book. That's why my shipping is higher than normal.
