Description: Description: Fabulous tall Marshall Studios pottery modernist tapered cylinder vase. Matte speckled brown glaze decor on a tapered tall form with large mouth. This shape appears in the Martz catalog as early as 1955, guessing this one may date to the 1960s. Contrary to the initial appearance, these did not double as lamp bases as far as I know, since the mouth is quite wide at top. Marked on bottom with "Martz M128". Condition: In good vintage condition with no cracks or chips. A metal mark or two on the side, and some 1/2 circle glaze misses at the bottom edge where it didn't cover all the way - I believe this glaze skipping is common with the larger Marshall Studios vases as I've seen it on several pieces.
