A lovely feature is that the movement is lovely being quarter striking with a 'ting tang' strike. The clock is superb quality and is made by LENKIRCH who are renowned throughout the world for their fine quality craftsmanship in their movements and the beautifully detailed and highly decorated cases. If you are looking for an exquisite clock, this one will surly fit the bill.The Architectural top is finished with lovely carved detailing and a nice dentile moulding. The dial is flanked by reeded Corinthian style columns and there is further carved detailing above the dial. The sides of the case have pretty fretted panels lined in red fabric. To rear is the door which is nicely fretted and is again lined in red fabric and opens to access the movement which is help in place with a catch. The door which is complete with it's lock and key opens to access the dial. The dial is a work of art in it's own right. The dial is silvered and has a silvered chapter ring which is beautifully etched with Roman Numerals. The four corners are adorned with wonderful engravings as it the centre of the dial. To the arch is the regulation , namely the FAST / SLOW dial which is flanked by engravings. It is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers.The case is in lovely condition, and has a lovely rich patina. It is very difficult to convey through photographs the level of fantastic workmanship which has gone into this clock. But as you will note from the photographs there are fine carvings which set the clock of wonderfully.The clock is happily ticking away and keeping good time and the movement has recently been serviced. The clock chimes one 'ting tang' on the quarter past, two 'ting tangs' on the half past and three 'ting tangs' on the quarter to, then finally it then strikes the hours on the hour. It is stamped with the 'LENZKIRCH AGU 1 Million , it is also stamped '56', and '606685', which has been photographed. In addition this clock comes complete with it's pendulum and winding key. DIMENSIONS: The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are: - 10 1/4 inches / 26 cm wide. - 8 inches / 20.5 cm deep. - 16 1/4 inches / 41 cm high AGE: The serial number '1 Million' and '606685' dates the clock to between 1909 and 1910. CONDITION: The clock is in superb condition, as can be seen in the photographs, just minor marks commensurate with age and very careful use and there is one very small piece of dentile work missing one the left.
