My home is here in the center of Alabama, also known as, “the Pinebelt.“. To say the least, if we don’t know anything else, we know, hunting, fishing, and timber. With that in mind, after years of working with different types of wood, and rigorously torture testing multiple different types of hardwoods, after much deliberation and contemplation on specifically what type of hardwood would be the absolute all around best for building and assembling these chucks, I have come to the conclusion and realization that you just cannot beat seasoned Red Oak. It is incredibly strong and durable to say the least. All of the materials on these nunchucks are handmade right here in the USA and all of our materials are locally sourced. Nothing but the highest quality. I wanted to produce a quality product that would be extremely formidable, yet elegant, and still pleasant on the eyes . These nunchucks are absolutely built to last the test of time, and are assembled with care and precision so you can pass them down from generation to generation. They are high-quality American seasoned hardwood Red Oak, double finished with high-quality stain. Once they are dried, I coat them with multiple layers of SC Johnson sealing wax. The stain gives them that dark, gorgeous look, and the sealing wax prevents moisture from sneaking in and ruining them from the inside. Last but not least, after they are treated, they are carefully coated with three coats of industrial strength, clear epoxy. This gives them that million dollar shine and brings out all of the fine layers of the gorgeous texture of the red oak. All of the hardware is high-quality, custom machined 316 stainless steel. There is a 3/8 inch stainless steel spine running 8 inches from the bottom of the handle towards the middle. This adds weight and balance as well as strength and durability. This pair of Chucks is absolutely 100% formidable and can easily cave a melon in with little or no effort at all. I used JB weld clear epoxy to mount the Hex bolt. I do this for two reasons. The first reason is that I don’t want the spine to work its way out overtime and also the epoxy expands as it hardens, eternally bonding the metal together with the wood and overtime, during this expansion process, The materials eventually Bond together so tightly that they literally become one. it also prevents Damage from lack of acclamation, or the ordinary fluctuations in temperature from weakening the integrity of the chucks. Finally, The wood is heated and then hammered into place. This is not an easy task, but it ensures that you will never have to reattach the handles on these. Not Ever! They are fixed in place with an exquisite 8mm 316 stainless steel pin on each mounting bracket.
