Wilson was a member of the Confederate Air Force and the Richfield VFW. Wilson was a scholar of military history, aviation, and an avid collector of military vehicles, art and memorabilia. Wilson was a pilot and appeared in 3 movies. He was friends with most of the pilots he collected his autographs from.
