Michael McDonald (b. 1952) earned some of his touring chops as a member of Steely Dan in the early 1970s. He provided background music and vocals for several Steely Dan albums through 1980's Gaucho. In 1976, he joined The Doobie Brothers; his first production with the group, Takin' it to the Streets, was a significant departure from their previous sound. The Doobie Brothers released four albums with McDonald at the helm, four of which were certified Platinum. He left the group in 1982, although he has returned intermittently for reunions and other tours since 1988. The rocker began a solo career in 1982 with the release of If That's What It Takes. With certified Gold and Platinum albums to his name, McDonald has earned five Grammy Awards for his work. Lightly toned. Note on verso in unknown hand. Otherwise, fine condition.
