Description: For sale is a stunning rare clear iridescent Murano vase in the Pulegoso technique, which incorporates thousands of air bubbles in the glass. This is attributed to Seguso Vetri d’Arte based on identification via a Segusa glass reference book, which would date it to from the 1940s to 1950s. Vase has pontil mark on underneath bottom of vase. Vase is in very good vintage condition with no stains, chips or cracks. Minor imperfections include air bubbles from manufacturing. "The Pulegoso technique adds thousands of small air bubbles to the liquid glass, making for an almost foamy and semi-opaque iridescent appearance. As is the case with Pulegoso glass, the surface of the vase is textured from the bubbles, and the occasional tiny burst bubble can be found. The vase has lovely curves, with a neckless lip, a wide middle and a heavy bottom. Let a light shine through the glass, it is marvelous!" (Marc Heiremans, SEGUSO GLASS ART - From Murano Glass Objects (1932- 1973), Ed. Arnoldsche).
