Description: I have for sale an 1869 award medal from the Minnesota State Agricultural Society. The medal is silver, it is two inches in diameter and housed in a Numismatic Guaranty Corporation holder and graded MS 62 by them. It has the number 0220 on the rim? The Society was organized in 1854 to highlight agriculture & encourage farming by presenting an annual fair, the first was held in 1855 in Minneapolis. On one side it has a scene that is similar to the Minnesota state seal. At the top of the scene there is a ribbon and on the ribbon, it reads AGRICULTURAE EVOLUTAS. The other side of the medal at the rim reads MINNESOTA STATE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY. In the center, inside a wreath it reads, AWARDED TO and engraved WALKER & HEFFELFINGER - FOR BEST DISPLAY OF - BOOTS & SHOES MANUFACTURED BY - ANY MINNESOTA FIRM - STATE FAIR and the year 1869 at the bottom rim.
