Description: This is the Speeding Engineering full intake system for the Mitsubishi Evolution 4, 5 and 6 CP9A CN9A. The system is engineered to work together to deliver the coolest densest air to your turbocharger's delight. After looking at options on the market we saw there was not a full system that takes advantage of the factory NACA potential. We also wanted a kit that was completely reversible as these cars become collectors, so that meant using factory holes, laser scanning, and not destructive installs. This is a complete system consisting of the following:WRC-Style AirboxAirbox LidHood NACA Ram Air Silicone Turbo Inlet Pipe6in Cone FilterFuse Box Relocation BracketClamps Each system is built to order, made in the USA, Atlanta, GA. Manufacturing will take 1-2 weeks. IMPORTANT : This system requires a remote battery relocation (trunk is ideal for this). The fuse box is then relocated to where the factor intake sits via the Fuse Box Relocation Bracket. This bracket also contains provisions for mounting the popular Evo X battery terminal. The part numbers for this battery terminal are: OEM Evo X Wiring Joint (8571A017), OEM Evo X Joint Cover (8571A018), OEM Evo X Fuse Block (8571A019). The EVO X terminal and battery relocation kit are NOT included in this kit. If you need help sourcing I can help via messages. I excluded these as many people already have these parts from a previous remote battery setup. ENGINEERING: We engineered starting with a new NACA duct designed to pull in outside air most effectively. Inspired by the WRC systems this design out performs the WRC system by not being restricted in modifying the NACA to have a true NACA flow profile. The NACA duct features multiple fins to catch and separate airflows across the flow profile The NACA fits as a perfect replacement of the factory piece in a non-destructive manner thanks to laser scanningThe NACA then plumbs directly into the WRC-style airbox where a large 6in cone filter provides unrestricted power. The airbox has an integrated venturi mount for the cone filter to maintain smooth airflow into the factory mass airflow sensor. From the factory mass airflow sensor a silicone hose provides smooth flow right to the turbo, with fittings for factory boost control, valve cover venting, and BOV. The entire system was flow-tested though computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to ensure it operates well togetherFinally real-world testing on my own vehicle, in scorching hot summers and hard drives to ensure performance. VISCERAL:The system transmits the turbo noises well, so you get all the great chirps, whistles, and flutters. Rolling the passenger window down amplifies these even more. The underhood design blends perfectly with the factory components and looks as it if could have been factory. Following an OEM+ methodology the items are black with a satin finish. All items are hand build to order and hand sanded to achieve a smooth touch finish on the exposed surfaces. Reducing irregularities from manufacturing. As for scent and taste, well it probably smells a bit like paint and tastes like plastic, so I wouldn't recommend interacting on those two senses. We are happy to support any questions before your purchase, and are here to support your installation after. We pride ourselves on great customer service and are quick to reply to help find a solution.
