Description: This is a very nice Mitsubishi HS-U56 Video Cassette Player/Recorder. The unit has been cleaned inside and outside. The heads, pinch roller, and capstan have all been cleaned. The heads were demagnetized. It has new belts. The slide tracks and other wear items have been lubed. Switches were cleaned and lubed. The playback mode was tested with the Gordy VHS Tape. The unit performed well. The record mode was tested with the TV Show True Crimes and performed well. A digital converter was used to record from the TV. SEE PHOTOS IMPORTANT CONSUMER ALERT: This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the U.S. transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products. The remote has a clean battery tray and uses 2 "AAA" batteries (not included). There are a few age-related marks on the top and a scratch across the front decal.
