Description: MTH ELECTRIC TRAINS O GAUGE NEW YORK CENTRAL "LIGHTING" E-8 A/A DIESEL SET W / PROTO SOUND CAB# 4045 & 4048 MFG # 30-2140-1 These like new, excellent E-8 A/A diesels were made in 1999 by MTH Electric Trains and represents the New York Central Railroad. They come complete with a manufacturers' original storage box that is in excellent condition. The manufacturers' storage box has a Styrofoam insert that protects them during transit and when not in use. These diesels have very little track time and they have been very well taken care of by their previous owner. There are a few, very minor, scrapes on both the powered and non-powered units, but nothing that takes away from the performance of these units. (See above photos). I have tested these diesels, with the limited set-up I have, and the station sound and crew talk are loud. I am not able to run them either forward or revere and I think the system is in a neutral setting. The headlight on the powered unit works fine. I have also included a reprint of Rail Kings instruction and operating manual for these units. The life and performance of these locomotives depends, to a considerable extent, upon proper care and lubrication of the motor, trucks and other moving parts. As with all used locomotives, I do recommend a thorough cleaning and complete lubrication periodically and before initial use. A small amount of oil and lubricant, properly applied, goes a long way towards long life and great performance.
