Description: This MAGNIFICENT cotton 1870's / 1880's "contained crazy" quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with small, 3" blocks with strips of 19th century fabrics arranged "crazy" style.It measures 70" X 82 and is in excellent, strong condition, with the occasional small, inconspicuous spot, and no wear. There is straight line quilting throughout at 8 stitches to the inch. The back and machine stitched, rolled binding are the same early floral fabric, and the batting is thin. The quilt came out of Campbellsville, Kentucky (Taylor County). The VIBRANT EARLY FABRICS, UNUSUALLY SMALL SCALE, and REMARKABLE CONDITION make this 19th century COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out!
