Really no two songs are alike, and therefore it is downright impossible for me to actually describe their music. Even Google wasn't much of an help as the band seems to be virtually unknown. The only thing I found out is that Mutton Gun were label mates to the great Mercury Rev (on the London 'Jungle' label). You have manipulated guitar freakouts similiar to Sonic Youth, tape manipulations, experimental Noise Rock, sampled noises, lots of studio trickery, electronics (used to great effect on the mesmerizing "Pussywhip" track on their 'Into The Hogger' album), even a bizarre (and I mean bizarre!) version of Kenny Roger's "Ruby"...and the list goes on. My best description would be Sonic Youth meets Can and Faust at their most experimental. Not easy to consume, most likely impossible to play live, and definitely not your cup of tea if you opt for straight indie rock!" Mutton Gun included Justin Harewood of New Zealand band The Chills, and David Boyd later head of Virgin's Hut Records (Verve, Placebo, David Gray, Smashing Pumpkins), and had Dean Wareham of Galaxie 500 and later Luna guesting on this, their debut album. It was also the first release for Jungle's MINT label, named by the band. This one being Mint Sauce, which came from the association with lamb, the band being obsessed by the New Zealand farming industry (their name coming from an abbatoir instrument). The 'Sauce' suffix was therefore unique to Mutton Gun, so each band on Mint confusingly had the label name changed, with a different suffix. Hence Mercury Rev being on Mint Films. Stock photo. If you don’t have PayPal or want to pay by credit-card, you can still do so through PayPal. Just don’t log into an account, and look for the button saying ‘Pay by credit-card’. We also accept cheques from UK banks in Pounds Sterling, and UK Postal Orders. Checks in US Dollars from US banks can be accepted with a $3 surcharge. PayPal eCheques and orders paid by any method outside of PayPal may take longer to process and be subject to delays. Postage UK and particularly international postage charges have risen sharply (May 2012). The amount we charge is what we expect to pay plus approx 20-30p for packing materials. Multiple items postage If you are ordering multiple items, there will be automatic approximated reduction in postage costs – but make sure you order them together, not individually. If the estimate still looks excessive, don't pay but click on the 'Request total from seller' button in the shopping basket. We'll then recalculate the costs for your combined items postage and send you an invoice. The postage may or may not calculate as less; we’re trying to refine the accuracy of the automation. Delivery time excludes weekends and Bank Holidays, which may be different in the UK from elsewhere. Packets to overseas destinations (particularly Italy and Russia) often take longer than advertised due to local customs delays. Note: the date printed on our postage is two days after we print it, ie it’s the date it remains valid for posting until with Royal Mail, not the date of posting. Problem?
