Description: This mortise chisel is made by a small tool manufacturer in the Czech Republic and is of exceptional quality. The blade is made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. The blade takes and holds an excellent edge. The blade is accurately ground. As with all edge tools, it will require some sharpening before use. This mortise chisel is excellent value for a good quality tool. This is a set of 3 mortise chisels. It contains a 4 mm, 5 mm and 8 mm chisels. The blades are 5 7/8" long and are ground at a 25 degree bevel. The blade widths taper .030" from tip to shoulder for sidewall clearance. Thickness of the blades taper from 3/8" at the tip to 1/2" at the shoulder. Handles are black stained European Beech and are 5 3/4” long and 1 3/8" in diameter for a good firm grip. The blades have a well-seated heavy steel tang and the handles have brass ferrules to withstand heavy plows from a mallet. Overall lengths are 12". Comes retail packaging.
