Description: WOW! This is the story that started it all...SUPER RARE and unheard of in this condition! The September 1979 issue of National Lampoon magazine featured John Hughes' short story "Vacation '58," which inspired the 1983 movie National Lampoon's Vacation. The story is about a family vacation that goes awry, and begins with the family going to Disneyland. The family includes a dad, mom, baby, dog, Patty, Missy, and Aunt Edythe. The family has to rearrange the seating so that the dog is in the back, and they also stop at Richie's Marathon Service to get the car gassed up and checked. In the story, the family includes an aunt and dog who both die on the way. The dad does rob a cash register at one point, and goes buy a gun (a BB gun in the movie) and shoots someone (Walt Disney in the story and John Candy as a security guard in the movie). At the end of this story, the dad is in jail for shooting Walt Disney in the leg. Hughes began developing the story during the Chicago Blizzard of 1979, and filming began on July 5, 1982, in Boone, Colorado, and lasted 55 days. ***Brand New CGC Slab from March, 2024*******Will be packaged with care & Shipped with insurance up to full value!***You probably won't see another one in this condition ever.
