Description: This is an early printing of this book by Mississippi author Richard Wright of Roxie, MS. No dust jacket. It has chipping on the spine and a spot on the back cover, and other age wear. Very usable, readable book. Soon after this title was first published, Native Son was selected by Book of the Month, as its first publication by an African American author, with a BOMC first run of 250,000. That book is often confused with the original first edition. This book is marked B-P on the copyright page - very likely the second BOMC run after the initial 250,000 sold out within 3 weeks. The first 250,000 run was marked A-P, and First Edition, although it was not a true first edition. Although this book does have some condition issues, it is an interesting printing of this famous work by a Mississippi author. Buyer to pay $6 shipping. I will package carefully and ship promptly.
